Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
The short version: we have no accounts, we set no cookies, we run no analytics or advertising trackers, and the flights you save stay in your own browser. Below is the detail.
What we do not collect
AirlineFares has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your phone number, your date of birth or your payment details, and we have nowhere to put them if you offered. We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics service, we do not run advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not build a profile of you or your searches.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies. There is no cookie banner here because there are no cookies to consent to. The only thing we store in your browser is described next.
Saved flights
When you tap the heart on a flight, we save that itinerary in your browser's own local storage, on your device. It is never sent to our server and we cannot see it. It stays there until you remove it or clear your browser data, and clearing your browsing data will remove it.
What happens when you search
To show you live fares, the airports, travel dates and number of passengers you enter are sent to our server, which passes them to the flight data service that supplies the fares. That request contains your search and nothing about you. We keep the result on our server briefly so that repeating the same search is faster; that stored copy holds the route, the dates and the fares, and no information about who searched.
Guessing your nearest airport
When you arrive, and only if you have not already chosen where you are leaving from, we ask a free location service for a rough idea of where you are — usually just the city — so the form can start you at your nearest airport instead of leaving it blank. That service learns your IP address, as any website you contact does. It gives us a pair of coordinates, which your browser uses to pick the closest airport with airline service. The coordinates are used once and are not stored by us or sent anywhere else. If the lookup is blocked, slow or unavailable, nothing happens at all and you simply choose your airport yourself. There is no prompt and nothing to dismiss. We use open services that require no account and we send them no information about you beyond the request itself.
Third parties your browser connects to
Showing you airline names and logos means your browser fetches those small images from other companies, and any such request reveals your IP address and basic browser information to them in the ordinary way:
- Airline and supplier logos are loaded from third-party image services, so those services see the request.
- A location service is asked once, on arrival, for an approximate position — see above.
- Agoda and DiscoverCars are only contacted if you click a hotel or car offer. From that point you are on their site under their own privacy policy and their own cookies, and we earn a commission if you book.
- The airline is contacted only if you click Book. You are then on the airline's own website under their privacy policy.
We do not control what those companies do with your data. Their own privacy policies apply once you are on their sites, and we would encourage you to read them before booking.
Server logs and counters
Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — the kind that record an IP address and the time of a request — for security and for diagnosing faults. We also keep a few anonymous counters, such as how many searches we have served, which are plain numbers that are not linked to any visitor. We do not use either to identify you.
If you email us, we keep your message and your address for as long as we need to deal with it. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not use your address for marketing, and we do not sell or share it.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not collect information from children, and this site is not directed at children.
Your choices
Because we hold nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, ask and we will delete it. Clearing your browser data removes anything you saved here. If you are in Australia, this policy is written with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind; if you have a concern about how we have handled your information, email us and we will deal with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we ever start collecting something new, we will say so plainly here rather than bury it.
