Why we only list airline fares

AirlineFares does one thing: it shows you what the airlines are actually charging, and sends you to the airline to book it. We are not a travel agency and we are not a comparison site.

What that means in practice

Every fare you see here is sold by an airline on the airline's own website. We do not take your payment, we do not hold your booking, and we do not add anything on top of the price. When you click Book, you land on the airline's site and you deal with them from there — exactly as if you had gone to them directly.

Why we built it this way

Most flight sites make their money in the gap between you and the airline. They buy a seat, resell it to you with a margin, and become the middleman for everything that follows. That is fine until something goes wrong — a schedule change, a name correction, a refund you are owed — and you discover the person you paid cannot actually change anything, because the ticket belongs to the airline, not to them.

Booking direct removes that gap. Your booking sits with the airline from the first minute, so their staff can see it, change it and refund it without a middle party in the way. You also know exactly who you are flying with before you pay, which is not always obvious on a site that resells seats.

What we do not claim

We are not going to tell you airline-direct is always the cheapest option, because it is not. Sometimes an agency or a package site will show you a lower number for the same flight, usually by bundling something or by absorbing a loss on one leg to sell you another. We show what the airline itself is selling and nothing else, so if a cheaper fare exists somewhere else, you will not find it here. We think that is a fair trade for knowing who actually holds your ticket.

How we make money

Searching and comparing flights here is free and always will be. If you click through to a hotel or a car after a search, we may earn a small commission from that booking. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not affect which flights we show you, because we do not rank flights by who pays us — we rank them by price, duration or stops, whichever you choose.

AirlineFares is an independent Australian site, run by a small team with no ownership stake in any airline, agency or booking platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any airline.

Fares and availability come from the airlines and can change right up until the moment you pay, so always confirm the final price on the airline's own site before you book.
